Juliano S.A. Maranhão is Assistant Professor at the University of São Paulo Law School, where he obtained his phd in Law (2004). Post-Doc studies at the Department of Computer Science of Utrecht University (2005). Visiting Professor at Goethe Universität Frankfurt am Main (2016-2019). Maranhão is an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow researcher and was the winner of the Donald Berman Award by the International Association of Artificial Intelligence and Law (2001). Maranhão is a researcher of the University of São Paulo’s Center for Engineering and Artificial Intelligence and has grounded the Lawgorithm Association of Artificial Intelligence and Law, in 2017, to further applied research on AI&Law in Brazil. Maranhão’s research is focused on logical models of legal interpretation, Computable Law, Digital Law and AI Law.
